CitBank's Thank you Network expanding

Founded by Citigroup, the 10 million-member ThankYou Network is a free program that lets members earn points for using eligible Citi credit cards, banking at Citibank with an eligible checking account, and now booking eligible travel on Expedia.com. ThankYou Network allows members to pool points from multiple activities so they earn points and redeem for rewards faster.

Just a few weeks after Travelocity announced their new VIP program, Expedia.com and Citigroup have announced a strategic relationship to expand ThankYou Network. As the exclusive travel partner of ThankYou Network, Expedia is launching a rewards program enabling its customers to earn ThankYou Points and rewards for eligible travel booked on Expedia.com, which is powering the redemption of travel rewards on ThankYou Network's website, www.thankyounetwork.com.

Expedia travelers can now earn ThankYou Points on their travel purchases across multiple airline and hotel brands. Expedia's goal was to launch a rewards program for its customers that complemented the frequent-traveler programs of its supply partners. Consumers can earn ThankYou Points on top of any points or miles they would already be earning from an airlines' frequent-flyer or hotels' frequent-guest programs. "It can be a great way for ThankYou Members to maximize their points with existing hotel and air rewards programs," says Nancy Gordon, Senior Vice President, Chief Marketing Officer, ThankYou Network, Citigroup's Global Consumer Group.

On December 14, 2006, Citi and The Home Depot announced expansion of their strategic relationship. The Home Depot Rewards MasterCard and the Home Depot Business Rewards MasterCard will join the ThankYou Network rewards program.

As part of the ThankYou Network, the Home Depot Rewards cardmembers—both consumers and business owners—will continue to earn two points for every dollar spent at over 1,800 The Home Depot and EXPO Design Center locations and one ThankYou Point per dollar spent on all other purchases made with their card in the U.S. Cardmembers earn bonus points with their first purchase equivalent to a $25 gift card reward. The transition to the ThankYou Network will occur in spring 2007.

"What's unique about ThankYou Network is that it provides travelers with choice, flexibility, and the ability to earn points quickly and get rewards faster," says Paul Brown, President of Expedia North America. "Our travelers value the unbeatable choice, flexibility and value Expedia provides them. Now with ThankYou Network, Expedia travelers get even more value for the travel dollar, with the freedom to earn rewards points across multiple travel providers, including air/hotel packages, hotel, cruise or activities and total choice and flexibility over how they redeem their rewards."
